Safrole is only allowed in a cosmetic product when it is present as a natural content of essences

Not exceeding 5% (weight by weight) calculated as a percentage of any Ethanol or Isopropyl Alcohol or both, as the case may be, in the product
Methyl Alcohol is only allowed in a cosmetic product when it is present as a denaturant of any Ethanol or Isopropyl Alcohol or both, as the case may be, in the product

m and p-Phenylenediamines, their N-substituted derivatives and their salts; N-substituted derivatives of o-Phenylenediamines
Cosmetic products for dyeing hair
Not exceeding 6% calculated as free base regardless of whether the substances are used singly or in combination
Products containing this substance must bear the following cautionary label:




“Caution — Use of this product may cause serious inflammation of the skin in some people. A preliminary test in accordance with the accompanying directions should first be made. This product must not be used to dye eyelashes or eyebrows as it may cause blindness.”

Methylphenylenediamines, their N-substituted derivatives and their salts; diaminophenols
Cosmetic products for dyeing hair
Not exceeding 10% calculated as free base regardless of whether the substances are used singly or in combination
Products containing this substance must bear the following cautionary label:




“Caution — Use of this product may cause serious inflammation of the skin in some people. A preliminary test in accordance with the accompanying directions should first be made. This product must not be used to dye eyelashes r eyebrows as it may cause blindness.”
