What it's like to have plastic surgery in Thailand

For many of us, the idea of plastic surgery is terrifying enough without the added factor of travelling internationally to get it. Medical tourism is a growing industry, but it's still surgery.

Anna MacArthur-Wade would tell you to go for it, though. A former flight attendant and recovered addict, the 54-year-old travelled to Thailand this year as part of the new television series Beauty and the Beach.

Through Gorgeous Getaways, a firm that organises plastic surgery holidays, she had a facelift, a neck lift, a brow lift and an eye lift. It wasn't 100 per cent easy

"For 24 hours I felt like sh*t" - but she's thrilled her results.

"I'm so happy with what I've had done because it looks really natural."

The standard of care in Thailand was huge, she says. "They're so careful and so interested in how you are, you get very spoiled. It's top class," MacArthur-Wade says.
