What are the factors that can disrupt sleep?

In France, 4 out of 10 people are affected by sleep disorders *. Difficulties of falling asleep, multiple awakenings in the night or awakening too early in the morning, are as many disruptions that have harmful repercussions.

Although the causes of these disorders are varied, the environment or certain habits can have repercussions on sleep:

  • Stressful organization and working conditions: staggered or overnight hours, travel, work overload...

  • Physical activity exercised incorrectly: uncommon, intense and practiced at the end of the day.

  • An unfavorable environment for a good night's sleep: bad bedding, too high ambient temperature, dryness of the ambient air, noise, light, electromagnetic devices...

  • Foods "enemies" of sleep consumed after 15 hours: exciting (coffee, alcohol, and tobacco), foods high in fat, spicy dishes...

  • Unfavorable sleep activities before bedtime: copious dining, watching TV, using the computer...
