The Wellness Massage is a combination of massage techniques
from Thai, Swedish, Acupressure, and Reflexology disciplines.
This massage is designed to enhance blood flow to the
joints, tendons, and muscles. Stretching and Joint Rotation helps to realign
the muscle strands, and skeletal joints, allowing crucial fluids to flow
properly throughout.
Acupressure uses Pressure Points that stimulate
corresponding Yin/Yang targets located throughout the meridians of the body to
relieve pains and stiffness
Effleurage, Petrissage, Friction strokes and Tapotement
work the muscles to relax and revitalize. These are the basic and most commonly
used techniques for massage therapy.
Reflexology is administered by pressing on specific areas
on the hands or feet and can have therapeutic effects in other parts of the
body.
The Wellness Massage is a well-rounded massage that employs
these various techniques to provide an overall revitalizing tune up in one
session.
- Effleurage: a smooth, gliding stroke used to relax soft tissue.
- Petrissage: the squeezing, rolling, or kneading that follows Effleurage.
- Friction: deep, circular movements that cause layers of tissue to rub against each other, helping to increase blood flow and break down scar tissue.
